Redmi 5

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is all set to release their new Redmi Series in China. They are the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, and they’re set for launch on the 7th of December, according to the Director of Product Management at Xiaomi.

On Thursday, Donovan Sung took to his twitter account to give us all a sneak peek at both of the devices.

If we look at the photos he released, we can see that the products are going to launch in 3 colors, which are black, blue, and rose gold. In these images, the phones just look amazing.

Following the trend, both devices will sport 18:9 aspect ratio display with rounded corners and relatively thin bezels. On the contrary, both of them are going to launch with a single camera on the rear side.

Both devices will have the volume key and power button on the right side. Coming to specifications, we’ve got the following:

Redmi 5

  • MIUI 9 (based on Android Nougat 7.1)
  • 12 mp rear camera
  • 5 mp front-facing camera
  • 3,300 mAh non-removable battery

There’s no official word on price from Xiaomi, but considering the fact its predecessors were on the budget side, the prices of both phones should cost less than 999 Yuan in China.


Both devices just look stunning considering they are going to cost less. We have seen Xiaomi release some great phones with even better prices in the past, but this time, I believe they are going to rule the budget market.
