Happy Saturday, ladies and gents! We’re here with our first ever weekly roundup to coincide with our first week of existence. Launch week went down without a hitch, and we have you all to thank for that. Seriously though – if you’re reading this, you rock. I can’t thank you enough, but I can welcome you to a new era of Android shenanigans.
Weekly Roundup #1
First up, we flipped the switch on and opened up the floodgates here at Android Unfiltered on Tuesday, August 1st. Aside from a few minor hiccups, the site launch went pretty smooth.
We opened up with 24 articles, and that total has grown throughout the week. Site traffic was excellent for a first day on the scene. We ended up with 464 page views, of which 347 were unique.
Obviously, we’re not doing big league numbers just yet, but mark my words, they’re coming.
Hottest news of the week
We got news regarding three of the most anticipated upcoming phones this week. First, we found out Samsung is unveiling the Galaxy Note 8 on August 28th, at an event in New York City. Later in the week, we got final specs and confirmed two different color variants of the Note 8: Midnight Black and Maple Gold. We also learned that the LG V30 will likely be out at the end of September, and got some disheartening news about the Pixel 2, as well.
Here’s some other notable news from the past week:
- YouTube Red, Google Play Music to merge, says YouTube’s head of music
- Google Home Preview Program incoming for thrill-seeking beta testers
- Google is finally giving higher priority to quality apps and games
- Here are the Draft Candidate emoji characters for 2018 and Unicode 11.0
Apps and games
This week, we reviewed a couple of games, and recommended a few essential apps, both for Android and for Android Wear 2.0. We also spotlighted an app for wine lovers, and we shared a way to make free money to spend on the Google Play Store without having to put forth much effort.
Sharing the knowledge
Lastly, we shared quite a few posts to help you out in numerous ways. We made some suggestions to help you extend your phone’s battery life, and we showed you how to find a lost or stolen Android device. We also posted a couple tips and tricks to help make your life easier.
Hottest article of the week
Tony wrote his first editorial on the site, and it’s a doozy. Check it out, if you haven’t already given it a read, as long as you’re not the squeamish type. Just make sure you’re not driving while doing so.
That about wraps us up here for week one. As we roll into our second week, I’d like to thank you all again for stopping by and checking us out. It means the world to me! I’d also like to shamelessly plug our social media sites and ask that you follow us wherever you’re most active.
See ya again next Saturday for our next weekly roundup. Same time, same channel. Until then, have an excellent week!
