It’s the middle of the night here in the United States, but IFA is in full swing over in Germany right now. And one of the year’s most anticipated devices – the LG V30 – just became official. After a summer full of rumors, the wait is over, and we now know everything there is to know about the upcoming phablet.
Here’s a quick rundown.
LG V30 official specs
- 6-inch QHD+ POLED FullVision display with minimal bezels
- Gorilla Glass 5
- Snapdragon 835 processor
- 4GB RAM, 64GB storage (also 128GB in a V30+ model)
- Dual camera setup with 16MP f/1.6 and 13MP wide-angle f/1.9 shooters
- 3300mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge
- USB Type-C port
- Quad DAC
- IP68 water and dust resistance
- MIL-STD 810G compliance
- Android 7.1.2
The LG V30 launches September 21st in South Korea and arrives in US and other markets soon after, which lines up with our original projection of September 28th. Expect carrier announcements in the coming days – all the major players will certainly be in on this one.
One of the most exciting features for me here is the IP68 rating. The V20 was a stellar phone, but it had to go as soon as the G6 came out. I spend far too much time at the pool with my kids to not have a waterproof phone. And I got some amazing in-pool shots this year!
Now that we know what’s what, readers, will you buy the LG V30? Or, are you holding out for something else? I was all but sold on the V30, but I’m still jealous of everyone rocking Oreo right now, so I’m heavily leaning towards the Pixel 2 when it releases later this year.
What’s your take, readers?
