Music is an important part of our life, which changes our mood instantly. These days, most people don’t use iPods or old-fashioned Mp3 players. We are accustom to listening to music on our phones, be it online, or offline. While many of us prefer playing music through online services like Spotify, there are many people who like to keep a collection of songs for when they are not connected to the Internet.
So here we are with the review of a music player that gives you an iOS Music Player-like feel while keeping the Material Design guidelines in mind. It’s called Retro Music Player,
The best part of this player is its UI. While it keeps some major UI components from the iOS music player, it also gives us the Material Design feel. It is a very customizable app that provides you many settings to make it look the way you want. I’ll share some key features here, which should help you decide if it’s for you or not.
Retro Music Player provides you different themes that can make it look awesome. For example, it lets you choose your own ‘General Theme’ which include Clearly White, Kinda Dark, and Just Black (best suitable for AMOLED screens). You can also choose your favorite accent color to fine tune it to the way you like.
Various “Now Playing” styles
The Now Playing screen is one of the most important screens in any music player. It has to look good. Retro Music Player checks that box, too. It has some great styles which help you to fulfill your theming needs. To be precise, it has 6 different styles and all of which look just amazing in my opinion.
This player also has a ‘Home’ section which shows you all your playlists, recently played/added songs and the tracks which you have played the most. You can access this section from the sidebar. A neat feature!
Lock Screen Controls
With this, you can easily play, pause, or fast forward/rewind from the lock screen itself. No need to do these actions from a boring notification with small buttons to press. This screen too looks amazing the way it is.
Retro Music Player is one of the best which you can find in the Play Store right now. It includes some great features which you need to try out yourself. Its free to download from Play Store. And if you can’t wait to try new features, join the Telegram Group to test the Alpha builds. (Be warned, though – they surely contain bugs.)
