Do you own a Nokia 6? Are you ready to get an official (beta) taste of Android 8.0 Oreo? Today is your lucky day if your answer to those two questions is “yes”. The company opened up its beta testing program for the phone earlier today, as confirmed by Nokia CPO, Juho Sarvikas.

Nokia is actively trying to get folks to help test the Oreo release to ensure the final product for the Nokia 6 is as smooth as can be. It’s a pretty respectable move and a welcomed trend we’re starting to see among other OEMs. Especially taking into consideration Google’s own methods of providing developer previews. This gives manufacturers extra time to test and, hopefully, not take forever in rolling out the latest versions of Android.
Head over to the official signup page and throw your name in the hat to become a beta tester. From the look of things on the #Nokiamobilebetalabs stream, not everyone is having the smoothest of times getting the update just yet. However, the floodgates just opened, so it may be a few hours – or days – before you actually get an update on your device.
The good news: It’s a-comin’!
