We’re less than two weeks out from the launch of one of 2017’s hottest devices, and from the look of it, the LG V30 is going to live up to its hype 100%. Today, we get our first look at official renders of the device, courtesy of well-known and respected industry tipster, Evan Blass, aka @evleaks.
The latest leak puts the V30 on full-blast, and unless my eyes are mistaken, it looks a helluva lot like the Samsung Galaxy S8. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, either. I’m sure many folks will debate that last statement, but I’m totally okay with LG “borrowing” this form-factor from Samsung. I mean, why not? The S8 is a friggin’ spectacular device.
LG G6, LG V30 side-by-side
To put a better perspective on things, Twitter user @DesaiRaj414 threw together a side-by-side of the LG V30 next to the G6. As you can see, the V30 looks to have even smaller bezels than the G6, especially down towards the bottom. It also has those curved edges on the sides that have Samsung fanboys everywhere screaming, “Copycat!” Around back, we’ve got the fingerprint sensor in the middle, dual cameras, and the device logo prominently on display.
In the official render, we’ve got the fingerprint sensor in the middle, dual cameras, and the device logo prominently on display, around back. And while there’s no official confirmation on this, we expect the device to come with a headphone jack, too, unlike another greatly-hyped smartphone on the horizon.
I’ve said it before, but for those just joining, I’m already considering the V30 as my next personal phone. I hope it’s waterproof, but it won’t be a dealbreaker for me if it’s not; pool season is winding down now. And dammit, this phone looks sexy!
Readers, as we get closer to launch, what do you think? Are you swaying one way or another on picking this one up?
