Android Unfiltered Introduction

There are many of you reading this that know who I am, but then there are many of you who don’t have a clue and are sitting there asking yourself, who the hell is this damn Cliff Wade guy and why should I give a damn about him? And to be fair, those are both really good questions so I’m here to tell all of you a bit about myself in a quick introduction, in hopes that you’ll at least care a little bit after story time is done and over with.

So let me start off by saying, that’s me in the big picture above. No, no, no! Not the blue guy silly. I’m the cheesy looking bald headed guy with blue all over my head. And for the record, yes, that’s one of the official Blue Man Group members that I had a pleasure of meeting in January 2017 while attending one of their shows during my 12 day vacation to Las Vegas.

Back In The Day

Before I get into the “about me” details, I’ll let all of you know how I came about writing for Android Unfiltered. Tony Simons, you know the crazy goofball that owns AU here, was the founder/owner of OMG!Droid(domain doesn’t work any longer) and I somehow stumbled across him on Google+ and we quickly became friends. I some how came up with this crazy idea of asking Tony to allow me to write for OMG!Droid, even though I had never written a single article in any online format. Not sure what or even if I was thinking, but yeah, it happened.

Tony saw my passion for Android, which was still a very new passion of mine at the time, and he scooped me up and took me in. We became very close friends and after a year I branched out on my own and started my own site which I’ll talk about more here momentarily. After a little while longer, Tony got super busy in life, sold off the domain name to OMG!Droid and got out of the blogging business.

Fast forward to about 2 months ago and I got this totally out of the blue(yes, about as blue as that guy in the featured image above) message on Twitter asking me if we could talk via DM about some things. I instantly knew what it was and without discussing what was said exactly, Android Unfiltered was being born and well on its way to infamy. I talked to Tony about the fact that I still have a mad passion for Android, since I am after all the Customer Support Manager and Social Media Manager for Nova Launcher, the largest 3rd party launcher app in the Google Play Store. I told him I’d like like to provide some Android related articles on AU if he’d allow me. And well, here I am today. Now, let’s get to the juicy tidbits you’re all really and truly waiting for.

Tech Enthusiast

Tech has interested me since I was a wee little tike who was barely smart enough to walk. If it beeped, made noise, displayed an image or most anything else, I was all about it and all up in its face checking it out. My parents told me I was always fascinated by tech things of any kind when I was baby. Once I got a bit older, back to where I can actually remember things, this certainly proved to be very true. I’m referring to the Atari 2600 era of my life. I think it was that piece of machinery that truly set my life into motion as to what path I was headed down as far as the one big thing that would intrigue me for as long as I’ve been alive.

Video games were a huge part of my life when I was a kid in the 1970’s. Yes I know, I’m showing my age, but you know what, I’m damn proud to be this damn old and still able to type and I’m even more appreciative of being able to say I experienced all these old Atari and ColecoVision game consoles in their original existence, long before all the flashbacks you younger generation are getting to experience. I can tell that flash forward 35 – 40 years later, and video games are still an important dose of medicine in every day life. Yep, I’m looking at you Destiny and Destiny 2(releases September 6th, 2017).

Because of my mad fascination with all things tech, it’s time let you all in on a little secret. I am the founder/owner of TechDissected.com which is my own personal tech site that mainly focuses on tech reviews. The site was originally called AndroidDissected where I focused on all things Android just like we do here at Android Unfiltered. But after about 1 1/2 years I decided that since I was doing quite a few review products that weren’t Android specific, it was time for a re-brand and an expansion so I renamed the site to TechDissected. That was about 3 1/2 years ago now and things are doing pretty well over yonder way.

There’s plenty more to talk about when it comes to my love and passion for all things tech related, but to try and not make a damn book out of this post I’ll save some of that for another day and another time that will be deemed more worthy of my long windedness.

What’s My Content Going To Be?

I’m sure most of you are wondering what kind of content you’ll be seeing from me. In the world of Android I’m big into customization. Not all the rooting and ROM’ing and all of that stuff, but more along the lines of 3rd party launchers such as Nova Launcher and icons. They are hands down my favorite part of the customization factor of Android. So much so that I won’t neither deny nor confirm that I probably should have had an intervention for how many icon packs I used to buy back in the day in my prime of it all.

With that said, you can expect a ton of icon pack review posts from me, as well as customization posts in general such as wallpaper apps, things you can do within Nova Launcher to make your device look and perform differently and various other types of posts that are similar.

So if customization is your thing, and you like to know about the latest and greatest icon pack that will make your Android device scream with beauty, then make sure you stay tuned to my articles here on Android Unfiltered as I hope to not disappoint any of you.

It’s A Wrap

So there you have it boys and girls, a little bit about me, Cliff Wade. All in all in I’m just a fanatic who is trying to get my next tech fix by engaging with the latest tech gadget possible. You can find me all over social media such as Google+, Twitter and Instagram. And yes, that’s correct, I do not own a Facebook account or page, sorry….NOT SORRY! If you’d like to follow all of my TechDissected stuff, you can do that as well via Google+, Twitter and Instagram. And yeah, no Facebook account or page there either. I’m pretty serious about the NO FACEBOOK stuff in my life and I hope you accept that.
