Android Unfiltered is a small team of volunteers and Android enthusiasts. We’re looking to grow into a widely-read and respected publication, but Rome wasn’t built overnight. As such, we’re currently looking for a few like-minded individuals who share the same passion for Android and technology in general to join our team.
First and foremost, I must disclaim that these are 100% volunteer positions at this time. We’re still a fairly new site and have little-to-none, in terms of site monetization and income. We need to build our traffic and community following by providing top-notch content before we even begin to consider a paid staff. That said, this is your chance to get in early and prove your worth for when that time rolls around.
Who we’re looking for
Do you like staying on top of the news? Perhaps writing product reviews or tutorials is your thing. We welcome any type of content creator, so long as you’re active and passionate about what you’re creating. We’re also open to new ideas, so if you’ve got something really cool that you would like to bring to the table, by all means, don’t hesitate to speak up.
A few of the positions we need to fill include, but are not limited to:
- Video Content Creators
- Social Media Manager
- Graphics Guru
- Android App Developer
- Community Moderators for Google+
What we need from you
First and foremost, we need your dedication to be active with whatever it is you’ll be doing here on the site. Authors are required to submit a minimum of two articles per week, WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Of course, there are the rare occasions where life gets in the way, and we surely understand this, but if you’re passionate about what you’re doing, 2 articles a week is next to nothing.
I work a day job, have plenty of family responsibilities, a crazy dog, and a sliver of a social life. I’m also a budding photographer. But, because I’m
passionate obsessive about my goals for the site, I still manage to find the time to put together articles on a frequent basis. I’m telling you all of this because, if I can do it, so can you, if you’re down for the cause.
If you’re not down for the cause, no hard feelings, but please keep it movin’.
Potential author and editor candidates
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be available at least part-time to contribute (A minimum of two articles per week is required.)
- Can reside in any country, but must be able to write in and comprehend English impeccably
- (NO EXCEPTIONS HERE!)
Please note, we don’t just want you to write, we want you to write interesting things. Anyone can regurgitate a press release or tell us about a software update. We want folks that are willing and able to go above and beyond to make their content worth viewing.
What’s in it for you
We offer the opportunity to have your work featured on our site and shared with our steadily-growing social network following. There’s also the opportunity to review cool new tech and share affiliate links from applicable networks to make yourself a few bucks for your work. We also offer lots of good company and laughter in our private chat server.
And as I previously mentioned, once we’re in the position to start paying people, those who’ve been with us since the early days are going to be the first ones we offer those paid positions to. The quicker we grow, the quicker we can make that transition.
How to apply to join our team
First, make sure you read the entire post above. After you’ve done that, fill out the form below and make sure to include links to two sample articles you’ve written. These can either be links from other sites, or to a Google Docs document, and should be well-written and thought out. Consider these your first impression, and make sure to make them count.
Obviously, for non-author and non-editor roles, you won’t need to submit a sample article. If you’re a Graphics Guru, please provide a link to your work, and the same goes for Video Content Creators. As for the social media manager and community moderator positions, just reach out. If you’re the right fit, we’ll know within a few interactions after meeting you.
Thanks in advance, and we look forward to having you on the team!
