Congrats to Joshua Wiley, the winner of the Ticwatch E!
Sorry for the delay in announcing the winners, folks. Blame Christmas.
Thanks a ton to everyone who entered and to our friends at Wearable Notifications for sponsoring this giveaway!
The holiday season is in full swing, and we’ve been giving away some pretty cool prizes lately to say thank you to our readers. Next up on the list is a chance to win a free Ticwatch E Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch from our friends at Wearable Notifications.
Before we get to the giveaway details, let’s take a moment to give a nod to our sponsor for this one, the Wearable Notifications development team. Shout outsĀ to them for their generosity here, and for keeping a relatively slumping platform alive with fresh content.
What is Wearable Notifications?
Wearable Notifications is aĀ simple app that provides data to watch face apps designed for Android Wear 2.0. It takes the notifications from apps you designate and displays them within your watch face’s “complications“. The app does so in several ways that differentiate from the way Google manages notifications.
Google’s notification management
- Can only track notifications that get sent to yourĀ watch
- Only displays a generic āBellā icon
- Only counts based on Apps, not Notifications – so if you have 5 Hangouts notifications and none from any other app, itāll display ā1″
- Always present even when itās at ā0ā
Wearable Notifications
- Tracks Notifications that come on yourĀ phone
- Displays theĀ realĀ icon from the app that produced the notification
- Counts based on notifications for the app – so if you have 5 Hangouts Notifications itāll display ā5″
- Hides when there are no notifications to display
How much doesĀ the Wearable Notifications app cost?
The app itself is free, with limited functionality. Unlocking the full version via in-app purchase will set you back a whopping $0.99. Surely a nominal fee if you’re an Android Wear 2.0 user looking for better control of your notifications.
Go fill out a survey or two, get some free Google Play Store monies, and it won’t cost you a dime.
Wearable Notifications is currently in beta. You can grab the app from Google Play with the widget below andĀ join the Google+ communityĀ for more information.

Win a Ticwatch E Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch
One Ticwatch E, rated by Android Police as “stylish and affordable“, is up for grabs here. The lucky winner will also get a promo code to unlock the full version of Wearable Notifications.
As the Wearable Notifications and Android Unfiltered teams are still small and funds are limited, this giveaway is also limited to entries from the US only to help keep shipping costs to a minimum.
Sorry, international readers – we love you just as much, and we’re working on bringing some awesome international giveaways to the mix ASAP.
