As most of you know, Tony Simons launched this site back on August 1st, and I came around a couple of weeks later and wrote my first article here that was about icon packs. Customization is our thing here at the AU HQ and us supporting the developers is something we bleed and preach. Make no mistake that when some douchebag thinks they can steal the hard work of these developers in our community and do with it as they please, we stand up and start preaching. Today I’m not just going to preach, I’m going to blast this son of a bitch right back up into the hole he came out of when he was born.
Development theft is a crime

One word of warning, if you don’t like to hear people rant about something they believe in passionately, then you might want to click the big X in the corner of your screen now because this is where I get very opinionated. I also want to state that my views stated within this post are my own personal views and they may or may not reflect the same thoughts as the site itself or anyone else that has anything to do with this site.
Back in the OMG!Droid days I was known to go off on a good rant about a few things over the year I was an author there. You can simply ask Tony about my Draw Something rant that was probably one of the top viewed posts of all time on that site. What a classic that was. But that’s not what I’m here for today. I’m here because some turd burglar feels that if he purchases an icon pack from the Google Play Store that he then has the complete right to do whatever he wishes with those icons, including freely distributing them or selling them.
So let’s get to a bit of back story here. Our good friend and developer Julian Gomez who makes the Iris UI Icon Pack which we did a review of seems to have had his icons stolen by some numb-skull named Ełvın Ʀɗ and then decided that he had the right to do anything he wanted with those icons. Above, you see the email conversation that he and Julian Gomez had and you are free to make your own judgment and opinion, but in the end, what this little screwball stated is complete and total bullshit.
I don’t care who you are, or who you think you are when you purchase an app from the Google Play Store, you are simply purchasing a license for personal purposes only and nothing more. It’s a common misconception by a lot of users that purchasing apps, especially icon packs, gives you the right to do whatever with those icons at that point and that is the complete opposite of the truth. You’re not buying the program itself, or the code to it or even the design of it. You merely get a license for you to use, and that’s it.
If you do anything outside of personal use such as using it on your mobile device, PC or whatever, it’s straight up called THEFT, STEALING, THIEVERY or whatever other words you wish to use. As you can see above Ełvın Ʀɗ has emailed Julian and told him otherwise. But I’m here to tell you that you have life seriously screwed the hell up. You are nothing but a low life thief and nothing short of sewer scum if I might say so myself. Developers such as Julian have put in a ton of hours, blood,
As you can see above Ełvın Ʀɗ has emailed Julian and told him otherwise. But I’m here to tell you that you have life seriously screwed the hell up. You are nothing but a low life thief and nothing short of sewer scum if I might say so myself. Developers such as Julian have put in a ton of hours, blood, sweat, and tears in making their designs and those of us here at Android Unfiltered aren’t going to sit here and let you put your scummy little paws on his hard work and call it your own without us saying something publicly.
The nerve of some people…
Since this article is being posted on the site publicly for all our AU friends and family, we simply ask that you share this post: “Screw Ełvın Ʀɗ All To Hell” and feel free to add your own two cents. Or better yet, add a complete dollar and voice your opinion on this thieving asshole. Put him on blast on Google+ and let all of your friends and followers know that this kind of stuff will NOT be tolerated under any circumstance. We ask that you do it for the love of pizza if nothing else.
For now, I do believe that my little rant is over and I do apologize up front if I offended anyone. But this is something that I’m very passionate about and always have been and I guess I always will be. Stealing is not acceptable for any reason, and even threatening to steal someone’s work will get you a lashing from us here at AU HQ. If that’s what you feel you enjoy and want, then by all means go steal something from the developers we call family. If you don’t want to be called out, publicly I might add, then don’t do some dumb shit like this nut job Ełvın Ʀɗ did and get yourself ashamed in front of millions, because I guarantee you that if/when I get word of it, you’re ass is getting roasted, big time.
Before I go, I have one last favor to ask of everyone reading this since it does have to do with our good friend Julian Gomez. We always ask here at Android Unfiltered is that you support the developer of any app that you use. These folks are busting their asses trying to make a living and they do so by making our devices look as kick-ass as possible and they put a lot of effort into things like Iris UI, so there’s no doubt they deserve the love, support and appreciation of you, the AU audience.
Let’s all band together and show folks like Julian that we have their back and we won’t tolerate any shenanigans from any damn asshat who thinks they have a right to be said asshat!
