Google has finally decided to give some love to Android Wear, which it hasn’t done for quite a while. The Oreo update for AW Smartwatches is finally starting to roll out. Almost two months ago, we saw Google release Android Wear Beta program for the LG Watch Sport and also a few new features released via Google Play. And now, the beta testing is over and we are going to see Oreo on our watches soon.

Recently, one of the moderators at the Official Google+ Android Wear Community revealed that the Oreo Update has begun rolling out to devices. Here is the changelog he posted:

Android Wear 8.0 Changelog

  • Notification Vibration Strength Setting
  • Touch Lock options for Wet conditions
  • Support for 7 new Countries/Languages
  • Plus more, e.g. notification channels, battery saving background limits

Oreo for AW Changelog

We still don’t know which models it’s rolling out to, but according to reports, the LG Watch Sport is the first one to receive this update. I’ll still be checking for updates on my Moto 360 2nd Gen, but until then, let us know if your AW watch got the update in the comments below.
