Our friends at abode – no, not Adobe, say it with me… “abode” – are on-hand at CES 2018, and announced today a new device in the company’s DIY home security lineup. It’s called “iota“, and it’s an all-in-one security gateway and HD camera that features integration with Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, Nest, Z-Wave, and Zigbee. It also works with Apple’s HomeKit.
I reviewed the abode Starter Kit last year, so I’m interested to see how this new device – iota – stacks up to it. I’ll have to bug their PR folks for a review unit once they get home and shake off the CES hangover.
Iota will be available in Q1 of this year, so it isn’t all that far off. It comes with a $329 price tag, however, so be sure to put some savings aside, should you be looking to buy here.
Keep on readin’ for the full press announcement.
