So, without further adieu, grab yourself a snack and get settled in. This is our list of the top 10 best zombie games, as of August 2017. Enjoy!
Stupid Zombies 3
The first entry on our list is actually the third installment of its series. Stupid Zombies 3, by GameResort, is not only one of my favorite zombie games, but it’s one of my kids’ favorites as well. It’s a turn-based shooting game where the objective is to kill as many zombies as you can. You have to line up your shots and bounce bullets off walls to hit your targets. The more targets you hit, the higher your score.
Zombie Catchers
Zombie Catchers, from Two Men and a Dog, is the most cartoonish game on our list, but don’t let that fool you. It’s tons of fun and comes with a great deal of time-wasting potential. As the title implies, players have to catch zombies, discover new territories and unlock gadgets. You can also build businesses and manage an underground lab.
Dead Trigger 2
MADFINGER Games‘ Dead Trigger 2 is an impressive first-person shooter. It’s fast-paced and a bit more violent and gory than the first two offerings on the list. We like gore and violence in our video games, however, so that’s certainly a plus. Dead Trigger 2 features a number of game modes to keep players busy, and a gigantic arsenal of weapons to keep them killing.
Into the Dead
Into the Dead, fromĀ PIKPOK is a Temple Run-style game set in a post-zombie apocalypse world. Players run through levels with zombies in their path. You have to either dodge or kill the zombies, and run for your life. The game incorporates a social aspect by letting players challenge their friends’ high scores, which is awesome for those who care about bragging rights.
The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land
I mean, c’mon. What good would a roundup of zombie games be without a title based on the most popular zombie themed show of all time? The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land, fromĀ Next Games, is an officially licensed RPG title that features all of the characters from the TV show. It lets players relive the show’s most memorable scenes via in-game missions, so franchise fans are sure to appreciate this one.
Dead Target
VNG GAME STUDIOS‘ Dead Target is the second first-person shooter to make our list. In fact, it’s very similar to Dead Trigger 2. The game throws waves of undead zombies at players who in turn have to pump as much lead in their direction as possible. The theme here is pretty simple – don’t get bitten, kill everything that moves.
Zombies Ate My Friends
Zombies Ate My Friends, byĀ Glu, takes us back to the lighter side of zombie games. Another cartoonish title, ZAMF is a game that lets players customize their survivors with items including weapons, clothes and equipment. You have to defend your safe house from zombies and search the streets for loot. You can also help other players out by completing quests.
Age of Zombies
Age of Zombies comes to us fromĀ Halfbrick Studios, which also released the uber popular game, Fruit Ninja. It’s a top-down(ish) game where zombies swarm players from all sides. Your mission is not to host a tea party for the undead, rather it’s to… (Spoiler alert: Obligatory Metallica pun incoming) Kill ‘Em All. No worries, folks. I’m here all week.
Plants vs. Zombies 2
The second installment to the smash hit franchise fromĀ ELECTRONIC ARTS, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is another of my kiddos’ favorite games. It’s a strategic battle game in which players collect cards to upgrade their plants to help them defeat the zombies. The game has over over 100 million downloads, so you must’ve been living underneath a rock for an extended stretch if you’re not familiar with PVZ.
Call of Mini Zombies 2
The final spot on our list goes to Call of Mini Zombies 2, byĀ Triniti Interactive Studios Limited. It’s a third person shooter that offers the perfect mix of cartoon style and gore. It offers an assortment of missions and fast-paced battles, as well as daily challenges and rewards. CoMZ2 also features a slick fighting combo system, and smooth graphics.
